MS Office Forum / Word / Page Layout / September 2007Word 2003 header/footer template quest
Howdy all.. I've created a .dot template with a logo in the header and address in the footer and it works great. Except I only want the header logo on the first page, I do want the footer address on all pages. I've tried adding a section break at the bottom of the second page and un-attaching it from the the previous, which sorta works (but not, because it creates a second blank page immediately and it may not be needed). I want it so my user can just keep typing and if he exceeds the length of the first page it will flow onto the second/third pages without header logos (just footer address)....without him having to do anything other than keep typing. What have I missed? Worked great. Boy, but there ain't nuttin' intuitive about that! Actually, I sorta was close but when stuff started disappearing in the header/footers, I headed for the refrig. Thanks again! What's even more eerie is what happens if you're dealing with a document that once had "Different first page" (or "Different odd and even") enabled, but it has been turned off. I must admit I did try to fix it without creating the second page first (i'm a contrarian, what can i tell ya) but finally gave in and did it like your site outlined.
