Putting picture in text box and getting text wrap to work

Hi!  I need help; I'm not very good with Word.  I
downloaded a template from the Microsoft web site to use
for a monthly newsletter for my crew.  The template uses
text boxes which makes entering text easy.  However, I
want to insert pictures and graphics, but when I do so, it
doesn't work.  When I go to "Insert > pictures > from
file" and put my graphic in, I don't see it.  I learned
that I have to go to "clear format" to make it visable,
but when I right click it and go to "format picture >
layout" I can not change the wrapping style.  Any
suggestions.  It is all hitting me now that I tried this
three years ago (doing the newsletter) and I ended up
using Word Perfect instead (which I no longer have).  Any
suggestions?
