When I start a new Word 07 document and need to type in an address, the line
spacing comes in as being double spaced, even though I have single spacing
set in my defaults. This is driving me nuts! I have to open an old document,
delete the old text and use the old document as a template. Please tell me
how to get my addresses to type in as single spaced with no extra space
between the lines! Thanks.

Check the settings for Spacing Before and After (Page Layout tab of the
ribbon, Paragraph group).
