TOC: - Omission of TABS from Heading Paragraph

I have a document in which I have a number of Level 1 headings with
auto-numbering.  These headings are single line paragraphs and have
three bits of text separated by tabs:
e.g.

1. ^ Title description  ^  Company Name ^ Dates

When inserting a TOC for the first level heading only, I'd like to
retain the tabs as I'd like to have the same tabbed layout within the
TOC as there is in the single line heading paragraph.  However, the
tabs get replaced with spaces.

I cannot seem to find a way to achieve what I want automatically
within the TOC.  Is it possible?

Thanks

The \w switch in the TOC field code will preserve tabs in the entries.
You'll need to use something other than a tab to separate the page number or
you'll get odd results.

Excellent!!  Even more so that I am not using page numbers in the TOC,
just the text!

Many thanks

I think you'll find that \w works, while /w probably won't.

Yeah, thanks, I realised that as soon as I saw the format of the other
switches for the TOC style.
