I have a person who when opens a old word doc or new word doc in Office
2003.She goes the  print preview and looks at the doc just fine but when she
clicks close the doc goes to a print layout view but instead of the normal
print layout view she has on the left side a small page of the document kind
of like a bookmark in a PDF or in powerpoint or a thumbnail. I have
unistalled and reinstalled Office 2003 and no help. I ran word as
Administrator and it worked fine but she has a roaming profile.

I can't address *why* it's happening (although it seems related to the
roaming profile) but *what* seems to be happening is that the Thumbnails
Pane is being triggered for some reason.

I can't suggest how to prevent it, but when it happens you should be able to
turn it off in the View menu.
