Hi Bert,
The error message doesn't sound quite right, but the
description otherwise reminds me of the problems that
started cropping up with more recent security updates.
There's a conflict with some anti-virus and other "file
management" software and the new security features imposed
in Office. In some cases, it's because the anti-virus
software was running during installation; other times, it's
because the software engines need to be updated to a
version that works with the new security features.
Maybe this information will help you find the cause and a
solution...

Hiya Bert!
Right just had exactly the same problem (which makes 2 of us in th
world from what I can tell by google, MS and Norton Knowledgebase's!)
It's Norton AntiVirus that causes the problem, you need to fully updat
your anti-virus software (via LiveUpdate) so Word can get through it'
"Requesting virus scan..." command.
Oh the joy of software upgrades!
Hope this helped

I encountered the same error message when inserting a flowchart int
Word that was created in another program. After doing LiveUpdate, i
works perfectly! Man, I would have never thought to do anything lik
that! Thanks for the post! :
