Hello,

I would like to start out in saying I am not a Word user (or a very
proficient one anyway). I am helping someone out with a document that has
several paragraghs and each paragraph is numbered. However, when I move the
mouse over the numbers, the pointer turns the other way and will not let me
highlight the number in order to remove it.

How to I get these numbers off of the document? On the ruler, the number are
in the gray area of the ruler. Only what's between the two gray areas of the
ruler is what I can move, delete or edit. It is not password protected nor is
it set up as a form and Padlocked. I can't seem to figure this out so any
help would be most appreciated.

Thank you!!!

For a start, have you tried selecting the paragraphs and clicking the
Numbering button (to turn it off)? If the numbering is defined as part of
the style, you'll ultimately need to modify the style to remove the
numbering.
