In Word 2003, when copying heading styles from a template into a
document through Tools/Templates and Add-Ins/Organizer, the number
format is copied correctly but the number position, tab and indent are
not copied.  Is there a way to bring in the numbering and paragraph
formatting exactly as in the template?

Copying numbered styles can be difficult, unfortunately. Instead of copying
from the template, create a document from the template, and then insert the
contents of your existing document into the newly created document.
