Using Office 2003 with XP2

I have several "letterheads" with various text & formatting in the
headers, and macros to call these up from templates.
Today, when I call up one of these templates, the header & footer are
not showing & I have to click View>Show Header\Footer to see everything.

I have not installed anything nor changed anything in Word, so can't
figure out why this is happening. The problem occurs with all of my
"templates" so it is not specific to one.

TIA
Doug
