I wish to print double-sided on a single sheet of paper (i.e. duplex
printing) with page numbering that adheres to:

+ The first page must be on a recto page (right-hand side of an open
manuscript) where the page numbers must be on the TOP RIGHT-HAND side of the
page.
+ The verso pages (left-hand side of an open manuscript) where the page
numbers must be on the TOP LEFT-HAND side of the page.

How do i setup my page formatting to accomplish this??

Page Setup > Layout > Different Odd and Even headers/footers. Set up the odd
and even page headers/footers as you require. Insert a temporary page break
if necessary while you set it up. The setting will be retained when the
break is removed.

Thanks!!!  This worked very well indeed.  I also discovered that i can also
achieve the same results by specifying 'outside' alignment when i insert page
number:

1. "Insert::Page Numbers.."
2. "Position::Top of Page"
3. "Alignment::Outside"
