Sorry, no can do. Word doesn't offer tabs in the same document.
Word does have several built-in options to speed up moving around a long
document, however: Edit | Go To, Outline View, Document Map, and Browse
Object. You might consider whether the Document Map would be helpful.

You might try Microsoft OneNote. It has similarities to Word, but has a
variety of tabs to divide by Notebooks, Sections, and Pages. I like it for
taking notes on different subjects. It is a part of my Office 2007 Home and
Student edition; not sure how it fits with other Office varieties.
