When I open a new document in print layout the entire printing area has shadowed lines, how do I turn this feature off. It's not underlines. In Word 2003 and earlier, display the Drawing toolbar, click the Draw button at the left end, choose Grid, and uncheck the option "Display gridlines on screen".
