I can't get Landscape Orientation to function properly.  When I insert a table or type text, the return is as if it were in portrait. I've adjusted every setting I can think of but landscape won't work. I've rebooted a few times to no avail. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Which version of Word are we discussing?

You went into File/Page Setup and changed the paper orientation to landscape?
And did you check the margin settings?

I'm using Word 2002.  Yes, I went to File/Page Setup. The margins are one-inch default but when I change margin settings the problem still exists. I can print in landscape. For example, I can print a landscape page created in Calendar Wizard, or others that have ben previously created. I cannot create a page in lanscape. When I insert a table, the right margin stops at the portrait margin even thought the top stop is placed at the landscape point. When I drag the right line of the table to landscape margin, the lines disappear (Page layout view).

I thought perhaps the default settings for the landscape template were changed but I can't find it.

I'm stumped.
Thanks.

OK, let's try a couple of common trouble-shooting steps and see if something
helps

1. Search the Normal.dot template on your machine (if you find more than one,
let me know).

2. Rename it to NormalOLD.dot. Restart Word. Can you set a landscape page
now?

If not

3. Exit Word.

4. Hold down the CTRL key, and start Word up again. (Note: it may look odd,
because we're starting with the installation defaults) Can you create
landscape pages now?
