I'm currently working on a document that is 8 pages long
and on A5 paper. The document is ready for printing and as
I wish to have the document as a booklet I'm printing
pages 8 & 1 on A4 paper. When the paper is folded in half
this will create the first and last page. On the first
page I have a border round the edges which look great on
word. However, when the page is printed out and the paper
folded in half the border at the top and bottom is perfect
at 10mm, the left hand side is 5mm and the right hand side
is 17mm. Any suggestion how get it at 10mm all the way
round?
Many thanks.

Suzanne,

Thanks for your reply.

I've taken a look at the link and set all the margine
to "0". The printer was happy for me to do this. The
printer is a HP DJ960C. I've been to the HP website and
dowloaded the latest driver. I've also changed the setting
to banner printing.

This made no difference at all.

Any further suggestions?

Mark

I think you have misunderstood the article. All DeskJet printers have a
rather large unprintable area on the trailing edge (bottom of portrait, one
side of landscape). You will not be able to print in that area no matter
what setting you have for your margins. But if you set the margins to a
reasonable amount and make your page border "From text" instead of "From
edge of page," it will print.

Suzanne,

Thank you for your reply. I'm currently trying to find
the "From text" and "Surround Footer" check boxes.

Any clues?

Thanks.

Hi, Mark,

In the Format > Borders and Shading dialog, on the Page Border tab,
click the Options button in the lower right corner. The "From text"
option is one of the choices in the "Measure from" dropdown, and
"Surround footer" is a checkbox in the section below that.

Jay,

I've managed to find the "From Text". Thanks for that.

However "Surround Footer" was not at the bottom. I'm using
word 2000. Was "S F" in that version?

Anyway, the upshot is that I still cannot print my
document correctly. All I want is to print how it appears
on my screen even if it means making the print area of my
document smaller.

Is this a lost cause?

Hi Mark,

You need to click the "Page Border" tab then the Options command.
You're on the Border tab. :-)
