For some reason in Word 2002 my bottom margin can NOT be set to anything less than 2.67 inches.  It returns an error and has the option to fix it, and then changes it back to 2.67 inches.  The page size is 8.5 x 11 portrait.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Daryl

Is this an HP printer? See http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/ for an updated
driver.

Yes, it is defaulted to an HP 5000 Laserjet and networked with everyone in the office.

I have also been experiencing this problem.
I have removed drivers, reloaded, changed to different print servers......
And the problem comes back. It's ONLY with HP5000 Printers and the only thing
I can remember is that it started happening when the blaster virus was hitting and we ran all the
Critical updates. Since I've did EVERYTHING i can think of with the driver could this be a windows issue???

Get the "margin fix" driver from http://www.hp.com/pond/ljbeta/index.html

Is it just me, or is there not an LJ5000 "margin fix" driver on that
page? I don't see one there, so any other ideas?

Thanks

If there is *any* driver for LJ5000, you could try it (but search www.hp.com
first). Or you could try the driver for, say, the 4000 or 4500.

Did you ever get this fixed?  We're having the same problem.

Thanks

It's a print driver bug (HP printer?) - see if there's an update at

Just as an FYI - you can delete and re-add the printer and
this fixes the problem, albeit temporary.  Eventually the
problem is returning.  This is exactly the same issue we
are having with Word 2000.  I think it is a printer driver
issue since deleting and re-adding the printer works.

I was successful at reverting my Normal.dot file to an original copy.  The problem had come back even after doing this... but, then I changed the properties of the Normal.dot file to "read only"  after copying from my original and have not seen the problem return.
