Bottom Margin

Hi,

I have a problem in that I need to set the bottom margin to 1cm. Whenever I do though, I get the message 'One or more margins are set outside the printable area of the page. Choose the fix button to increase the appropriate margins'

I can either click on 'Fix' or 'Ignore'.

If I choose fix, then it goes back to 2.54cm, if I choose ignore it will print to the desired page length. Fine.

However as all our documents need to print to 1cm from the bottom and our printers can print 1cm from the bottom, how can I overide the message so that once we have set the bottom of the page to 1cm, it does not bring up the above dialogue box.

Please let me know as my users are giving me hell over this.

The problem is apparently with your printer drivers, which are telling Word
they can't print to your specs. Contact your printer manufacturer?

Hello Neil,

You receive that error because of the printer's default printing margin.
The printer driver is set with a default printing margin that can't be
changed. You can see this margin by opening WordPad and setting all the
margins on the page setup window to 0. Wordpad will query the printer
driver and reset the settings to the printer's default setting. There is no
way to reset that setting. You can sometimes work around this setting by
setting a custom paper size for the printer and setting that as a default.
If at any point you have more than one page of text you may have extra
items at the bottom of the page so this wouldn't work for everything. Most
of the time it's easier to just click ignore.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Bobby Mikkelson
