When I type in word, I have to manually insert page breaks.  I no longer can just type and have the text continue on.  Secondly, when I try and change the page layout, It says something about the magin being to narrow and it will not allow me to change anything-

I have tried to reinstall word, but I can not figure out how to change this--what can I do, I have also looked for a blank document template on this website, thinking I could just replace my template, however I can not find one

I am not a techie, so I don't know what elst to do.  can anyone hel

Mel,

I have never experienced the problem you are having.  You might try the
procedures listed here:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm

This will explain how to recreate a clean defualt normal.dot template.

Try to go to page setup and adjust your margins there. Go to format>paragraph>line and page breaks, there you'll see windows/orphan control, put a check mark in that box. Hopefully, that will solve your problem. I have my computer set up that way and I don't have any problems with page breaks. I hope this helps
