I've created a Word2002 doc using different 1st page header command. I added the 2nd header on page 2. (This doc will be used like a form and can be either 1 page or several pages long, hence the two headers.) The question is, when this document is only 1 page in length, what happens to that second header information? Where is that information stored, and can I view it? Thank you!
You can't view it if you only have one page and if the setting is for
"different first page." It is stored as the section's "header." What I do,
when in the h/f view is click on the button for page layout and uncheck
"different first page." I close that dialog and the "header" is available
for editing. When done, I return to the layout dialog and recheck "different
first page." The "header" disappears and the "first page header" is back.
Alternative: in the body of your document you can (temporarily) insert a
manual page break (Ctrl-Enter).
Final note, you should save your "document" as a template -- and then delete
the original document.
