Does anyone know how to change the default Tab setting
for the Normal style in Word 2002. I've created a
template for my document and want the Normal style to
have a default Tab setting of 0.4 instead of the standard
0.5.
Thanks!

Brad,

Open your Normal.dot template.  Format>Tabs>Default tab
stops.  Change to .4 and click OK.  Save Normal.dot

This is the method for changing the default tab stops (i.e. the tab stops
that apply when you don't have any tab stops in the para) in Normal.dot, but
I think the OP might be looking for changing the tabs in Normal *style* in
anothertemplate.dot? In this case, you need to Modify the Normal style in
the template and explicitly set the tab positions.

Greg and Margaret,
I guess I was trying to do a combination of what you both
have suggested. Anyway, I have it working now so thank
you.
