A table in Word is always followed by a paragraph mark,
which may end up on the next page if there isn't enough
room for it on the page where the table is. Click the
Show/Hide button on the Standard toolbar; now you can see
paragraph marks, ¶, as well as other nonprinting
characters. Format the paragraph mark following the table
as hidden text, which will prevent the extra page from
printing (assuming that "Hidden text" is deselected on the
Print tab of Tools>Options).

table is filled with text such that the table just fit
into the page (ie touches the footer), Word jumps to the
next page eventhough the new page is completely empty.  
This has resulted in wrong total number of pages (page x
of Y) for the last page with text.  Is there anyway to
suppress Word from inserting a completely blank last page?
