I have a user who wants Word to start in Print layout
view.  All her documents are stored in print layout, but
for some reason, Word inexplicably sometimes opens in
Normal view.

She refuses to change the layout herself.  Is there a VBA
macro that I can add to Normal.dot, which will switch to
print layout and run when Word is launched?

Thanks

I don't know about a macro, but there's an easier way. Open the Normal
template (not a document based on the template). Switch to Print Layout
view, then make some small change in the text, like adding a space. Close
the template, saving the change. It should then open Word in Print Layout.
Close Word and try it.

Brilliant.  I should have thought of that.
Thanks.
