HOW SECTIONPAGES IS EVALUATED WITHIN A HEADER AND FOOTE

When Word evaluates fields within a Header and Footer, the propertie
of the page's first section are used.  This can cause problems.  Fo
example, consider the following Legal Agreement:

>       LEGAL AGREEMENT TITLE
> [------- Continuous Break -------]
>
>  Column 1 Line 1       Colum
> 2 Line 1
>  Column 1 Line 2       Colum
> 2 Line 2
>  Column 1 Line 3       Colum
> 2 Line 3
>  ...etc
>
> [Footer: Page {PAGE} of {SECTIONPAGES}]

When SECTIONPAGES is evaluated within the footer, the properties of th
first section, "LEGAL AGREEMENT TITLE", are used.  Since the "LEGA
AGREEMENT TITLE" section spans less than one page, SECTIONPAGES withi
the footer would be evaluated as "1".

If this document spanned 5 pages, the unfortunate consequence would b
that the pages would be numbered: "Page 1 of 1", "Page 2 of 5", "Page
of 5", "Page 4 of 5", and "Page 5 of 5".

Does anyone have any suggestions as how to get around this proble
within Word?  The example I'm using above is a 5-page section tha
appears within a larger document.

Since no one has replied to this post yet, I'm going to put it over i
Numbering instead.  Please reply to that thread instead.  Thanks

Answered in microsoft.public.word.numbering.

If you post directly to the newsgroups on msnews.microsoft.com rather than
via Rubin's crappy website, you questions would appear before those most
likely to answer them far more promptly.   It seems to have taken about 14
hours for your post to appear in the actual newsgroups that Rubin
deceptively gives the impression he is monitoring.  He ain't!
