rotation of page numbers

I figured out how to get my page numbers to be in the right location for my landscape pages that are in the middle of the rest of the portrait paged document. Now i need to get the page no. to actually be rotated so the top of the numbers is technically on the left side of the landscape page when looking at in the way work displays it. The document will be bound portrait style like all other books/theses. I need readers to be able to read the number before turning the thesis to landscape view. I hope this is clear.

If your page number field is inside a text box, select the text box and
click on Format | Text Direction, then click on the text orientation you
prefer. If your page number field is not inside a text box, you'll have
to put it into one before you can rotate it.
