Howdy, I just upgraded from office 97 to office 03. I like to create signs one word (or groupings of words) at a time. When working in word97, I used to be able to move the word(s) freely on the page. Now there seems to be some sort of tabbing, spacing, or linear control I cannot seem to override. Word03 seems to keep trying to make it similar to a text document. I would like to be able to type in a word, move it around the page at will, reformat if needed, resize, etc. How do I do this?

I am not really sure what you mean, but from the Tools menu, select Options
and then go to the Edit tab and uncheck the "use smsart paragraph selection"
item and see if that allows you to do what you want.
