My document is too long for me to locate the begginning or end of it, how do
I go to the begginning or end of it by pressing a key/combination of keys ?
I have tried pressing "home.........but it did not work , though it worked
in other applications!
Is there a way to do it through some settings?
Thanks a lot.

Ctrl-Home and Ctrl-End respectively. Home and End take you to the start and
end of the current line. In both cases you can use Shift also to select
rather than move.
