I load up a blank document and the page (in "print layout
view") seems almost square. Its because on the left-right
ruler (top of screen), I can see the grayed-out areas or
the page limits. But on the top-bottom ruler, there is no
grayed out area. So i get 9 inches, but no grayed out
areas. The page is almost as long as it is wide. The page
is set to 8.5 by 11 letter. Whats going on and how do i
fix it? -Titan

Click on Tools | Options | View | check the "White space between pages
(Print view only)" box.

If you're in Normal view, check to see whether you have "Wrap to window"
enabled on the View tab of Tools | Options. If you're in Print Layout view
(and this is Word 2002 or 2003), are you tracking changes? If so, Word is
allowing a wide right margin for the change/comment balloons. If neither of
these descriptions fits, are you sure you don't have Landscape orientation
selected in Page Setup?
