Auto insert page date in footer

Using Word XP
Is it possible to automatically insert the last time a
Word file was updated, and not have the date change each
time the file is opened. We would like to have this
appear in the footer area.

Yes it is possible.  Click where you want the date to go, and then click
on Insert | Field | Field names: DocProperty | Property: LastSavedTime |
uncheck the "Preserve formatting during updates" box.  This inserts the
date and time the file was last saved.

You can also use a SaveDate field with a time switch.
