Please Help.
In my document, I made a note to myself and typed
"***************"  [i.e., I pressed "Shift 8" many times].
Word had automatically converted this into a longer line
made up of "*".  Now I Can't get rid of this text!

I can't select it.  When I go below it and click
backspace, Word just moves this junk down, in the
document.  When I copy the text from my original document
and try to paste it into a new document, the junk appears
in my new document.  This is almost enough to bring me to
tears.  I feel like I will have to retype everything.  :(

Thank you for your kind help

Stan

Hi, Stan,

AutoCorrect turned your asterisks into a paragraph border. See
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Formatting/CantGetRidOfLine.htm for cure and
prevention.
