In another well known word processing program under the
Format Menu>Line, Flush Right with Dot Leaders. This
places the cursor on the right margin with dots from the
left margin.

I cannot find a function of this kind in Microsoft Word.
I am writing a publication and want to use this in the
page of contents.

Please tell me if there is the equivilant in Word 2000.

Thanks

g-n-o has answered the question you asked. To answer a question you did not
ask, you don't have to create a table of contents by hand; Word will do this
for you automatically (complete with period leaders and tabs that
automatically adjust to your margins). See
