I am trying to get a word document to print when I open it intially it shows
44 pages, then it "takes off" and you see the counter going page 1/44 to
1/3000 etc, the only way to stop it is to close the document, this does not
happen every time, to make matters worse. I am not sure where to start to
fix this

This sounds as if the document may be damaged. Which version of Word is
involved? If it's Word 2000 or later, try saving as full HTML (web page),
close, then re-open and save again as a Word document. With any luck, that
will shake out the gook that's accumulated in the binary file structure.

Hi Cindy
thank you for the reply, yes it is word 2000, I will try that I was
beginning to wonder as this was happening on several machines, but not each
time the doc was opened, and sometimes only when trying to print.
Will the saving as full html change the formatting?

It shouldn't. But you'll be doing this with a COPY of your original file,
right :-)

Yes I will be doing this with a copy, as well the file appears to be
affected by which printer I choose to print to

Yes, that's a given with Word. Even a different driver from
the same printer can affect line and page breaks.
