Is it possible to suppress or hide the page numbering on
certain pages? I know how to suppress the numbering on
the first page of a section, but what about other places
in the document?

Thanks for your input!

What you suggest is most commonly done by putting section breaks at the beginning and end of the not-page-numbered text.  If there are only one or two pages you don't want numbered, and if you know the page numbers of those pages, then instead of using section breaks you can construct a conditional page number field to exclude numbering of a specific pages.
