Hi, corsair. If the lines before the one where you tried to enter a manual line break are justified, then you probably just pressed Enter, instead of Shift+Enter. If you click on the Show All (¶) button in the standard toolbar, do you see a ¶ symbol at the end of the line that does not justify as you expect?
Hello
Thank you for your answer. I am afraid, however, that is not the case. The
other lines are justified, I press Shift+Enter, the "return arrow" appears
(when I click Show All), the text goes to the next line, but the end of the
original line becomes blank - it is not justified.
In fact, when I copy the same part that won't justify in my original
document to a brand new document and press Ctrl+J - the text justifies!! But
only in this new document, it does not work in the original one.
I have tried diferent styles, but it won't justify in any of them.

Hi, corsair. Click on Tools | Options | Compatibility. About a third of the way down the list of "options", there is one that says "Don't expand character spaces on the line ending Shift-Return". If that option is checked, then uncheck it.

Yes!!!! That is the setting I needed. Thank you very much for your posts,
especially the last one:-))).
I have always believed Usenet is the best as for troubleshooting and you are
the proof I have been right.
Thanks again
Have a nice evening:)

PS. I wonder how it became "checked" - I probably pressed some shortcut
unwittingly...
