This issue has been posted before but the suggested
solution did not work when I tried it.
I want my header and footer on first page only. I have
tried page set up -layout -and different first page but
this only takes the head & Foot off that page only and
they remain on the other document pages.
Please can I have some suggestions

Hi, Gareth. Go to page 2 of the document, open the header, cut the text out of the header, and paste the text into the page 1 header. Do the same thing with the page 2 footer.

g-n-o has told you what you have to do. When you were told that "Different
first page" was the solution, the assumption was made that you could
extrapolate from that to see that if you have a separate First Page
Header/Footer, you should put the header and footer you want on the first
page there and remove it from the Header that appears on the rest of the
pages.
