I am on a computer which is part of a network and
everytime I open a document that was created on another
machine the spacing is at a larger setting (1.5) than it
is on every other computer (1) on the network. As far as
I can tell, the settings are all set exactly as they are
on the other machines. It even says the document is set
at single spacing, when it is obviously at 1.5. I have
the same problem when printing also. I'm using Windows XP
and Word 2002. Please Help.

Just a thought: go to File > Page Setup. On the Layout tab check the
vertical alignment. Make sure it's set to 'Top' -- (it sounds like it might
be set to 'Justified').

Hi, Justin.  Click on one of the lines with problem spacing, and then click on Format | Paragraph | Indents and Spacing tab.  Is "Spacing Before" and "Spacing After" set to something other than 0 points?  If so, then modify the style to have 0 points spacing and/or turn off "automatically update" in the style definition by clicking on Format | Style | <select style> | Modify | Format | Paragraph | <modify spacing> | check the "Add to Template" box | uncheck the "Automatically update" box | OK.
