Hi,
This is my first post to the group. In Word 2000, I've been trying to set
the style numbering so that in the document it goes like this:
1
1.1
1.1.1
1.1.2
2
2.1
2.1.2
etc with suitable indentation, tho that's not the issue.
I've got it organized for Heading 1 and Heading 2 levels but with Heading
3 levels the numbering does not change from 1.1.1, it doesn't progress
numerically as I want it to. I am using Headings as the style categories,
is this OK? Or should I use Levels? Also, is it better to start off by
defining a new template?
Thanx for any help, this stuff is driving me crazy.
regards
Roy

You need to set up numbering and indents for each level starting at
the top-level paragraph style (that is, Heading 1) as described in the
following article:

Word document
