Top and side Rulers in Print Layout View

Installed Office 2003 Upgrade a short while ago. At first, the rulers appeared ok but they have disappeared and I can't get them back no matter what I try. Have tried the Tools, Options, View thing and that box is already checked, but no rulers. Does anyone have a simple solution??

Is Ruler checked on the View menu?

Thank you very much!

I just popped in here to ask this very same question -- I
don't have a clue how "ruler" got "un-checked" -- as it's
*always* been visible, for the two years I've had the
computer! And, would you believe, the built-in Word-help
feature describes how to use Ruler, but not how to *show*
it!
