Hi, when I am `trying` to type a letter using Word, everytime I press space, a dot appears at the end of the word. At the end of every paragraph, an icon ( which I assume from the shape is `end of paragraph` ) shaped like a line with a backwards `p` appears at the end of every line. How can I get rid of these?
Thanks

You can click the button on the Standard toolbar whose icon is the same
shape as what you see at the end of your paragraphs. Or you can go to
Tools>Options>View tab, and uncheck "All" under "Non-printing symbols", and
uncheck any others that happen to be checked.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm for an
explanation of all these nonprinting characters and suggestions of why you
might sometimes want to be able to see them.
