Changing default for page number position

Dear Word Users,
I insert my page numbers exclusively to bottom center
justify.  When I insert page numbers, the dialogue box
defaults to bottom right justify.  I have visited Page
Setup to see if I could change the default position of
the page numbers, but there is no place to do so.

Any suggestions?

Create a template that has page numbers centered in the footer. I would
suggest inserting these directly in the footer (View | Header and Footer;
Switch Between Header and Footer, Ctrl+E to center, the click Insert Page
Number on the Header and Footer toolbar) instead of using the Insert | Page
Numbers command, which can cause problems if you later decide you want
additional header/footer text or want to stop and start numbering.

Thank you for the suggestion.  The problem with setting
up a template is that I do not always want page numbers
and I do not usually know I want page numbers until I
have begun my document.  So using Insert/Page numbers is
still my preferred option.  I was hoping I could have
changed the default to center justify for the Insert
Dialogue box.  Any other suggestion would be most
appreciated.  Otherwise, thank you.

Mark
