A few days ago my Word 97 began opening up in Normal View
instead of Page Layout View as has been our default for
quite some time. So far I have been unable to discover a
way to change the default setting for this or discover
what was done to change this in the first place. Any
ideas, suggestions, or comments about this would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks, K.

Thanks. That fix worked quite nicely, and it was written
clearly enough that even little ole computerly challenged
me could follow it. Appreciate the help. K.
