Headers and Footers on first page only

I have a document where I would like to have the headers and footers appear
on the first page only. When I apply the different options I dont achieve
this. Can anyone please advise me on how to do this. Thank you

Check the box for "Different first page" on the Layout tab of Page Setup and
then put your header/footer information in the First Page Header and First
Page Footer. For more, see

When you have the Headers and Footers toolbar display, click on the Page
Setup button (It looks like and open book) and then go to the Layout tab of
the dialog that appears and check the Different First Page box and then
click on OK. You will then be returned to your document with a First Page
Header area appearing and you create your header in that area.
