how do i type a heading that will cover all three columns on a pa.

I have type three columns and finish, now I want to add one heading for all
three columns.  each time i tried it wants to do it for one column only.  I
want my heading across the page.  please help  my email address is

Type the heading, select it, then format it as one column (using either
Format | Columns or the Columns button on the Formatting toolbar). Word will
insert the necessary section break(s). If you need a heading for fewer than
the total number of columns, see
