When I copy and paste an image into word and scroll up or
down the image disappears,  how do I keep the image on the
page?

This is usually caused by an inadequate display driver. Update the driver
(if an update is available) and/or reduce the display hardware acceleration
a couple of notches. ATI, Intel and Matrox drivers have been reported as
having this problem.

I concur. Had the same problem with a heavy graphics document and it drove me
mad trying to fix. I had an ATI Radeon with the latest drivers but it would
not display the pictures, they just vanished as I scrolled. Changed the
graphics card to an NVidia GeForce card and it worked fine.

Reducing the hardware acceleration would have been cheaper ;)
