I have a 1 page doc. with 2 colums at the top and the usual 1 column format
at the bottom. When I print out the document "column break" and "section
break" prints out even though it doesn't appear in page preview. How do I
stop this from printing out? Thank you very much.

Are you printing the entire document or page or a selection? This is a known
problem when printing a selection: see “WD2002: Word Incorrectly Prints
Column Break Marks and Section Break Marks” at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324326

Thank you for the reply. WD2002 states this occurs when printing a selection
of a document. I am printing the entire document when this happens. Is this
the same problem? Thank you

I haven't heard of this happening when printing the entire document. Please
post back with the following information so I can escalate the issue:

1. Exact version of Word (find it from Help | About Microsoft Word).

2. Printer model

3. Printer driver details (you should be able to find this somewhere in the
printer Properties; for my HP LJ 4100, there's an About... button on the
Basics tab that gives the driver number).
