I have a pleading document with portrait orientation. I would like to insert
several pages with landscape orientation, but these new pages are in a table
format. I've tried adding a section break, but the side numbering prints on
the bottom of the page when turned upright. I've also tried word art, as
this allows me to rotate text, but the font styles are not what I'm looking
for, plus word art doesn't allow for tables. Turning the text in the table
is going to be very tedious.
Any suggestions?

Break it into two separate documents.
