How do I turn off this feature?

when I open a file from my documents I get a lot of other stuff like.

Normal
Normal
heading 1
Heading 1
Default Paragraph Font
Default Paragraph Font
Bodty Text
Body Text  and so on

Symbol
Symbol
Wingdings
Wingdings

How do I turn this off or get rid of all these words ( a page and a half)

In Word, click on File | Open, and if the "Files of type" setting is
"Recover text from any file", change it to "Word documents or "All Word
documents".
