In MS Word 2002 I start a document and set the margins in page setup say at
.40 of an inch. Then I create various styles and apply them to text.
Afterwards I want to change the margin settings.   Can I just go to page set
up and change the margins or is doing this going to change all of the various
styles where those headings and text line up?

Elsol102,
Yes you can, altering your page setup to change your margins has no effect
on your styles.
