I Don?t know if this is the right group, but I?ll give it a try.

I want to put the filename in automaticly on every new document I open. Is
it a way to do this without adding hedder/footer every time?

Thanks

Hi Kim,

If you meant in every document that you create, the thing to do is create a
template in which you have the { FILENAME } field in the header/footer and
then use that template as the basis for the documents that you create.  Do
not create a header/footer in Normal.Dot as it will quite likely screw up
any labels that you try and print.

If you actually meant existing documents that you opened, you would have to
open the header/footer of each one, thougn you could create a macro to do
this.  It would also be possible to create a macro to run through all of the
documents in a folder and put that information into the header of each.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested.  Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
