Hi all. My word 2003 is missing some 'toolbars' and i can't work out how to
get them back. Actually, its not tool bars, but the scroll bar on the left is
missing, and on the bottom is the left/right scroll, but not that other line
of things normally with that. I have searched through the view menu but cant
find a solution. I just want it back to standard. Cheers.

Hi, Matt. Sounds like you're missing your vertical scrollbar and your status
bar. Hit Tools-->Options, View tab and try checking some things there. You
can reset your toolbars:

You can reset Word completely by renaming normal.dot.

There isn't usually a scroll bar on the left. That might be the vertical
ruler. Both that and the status bar (as well as both vertical and horizontal
scroll bars) can be enabled on the View tab of Tools | Options.

I am missing my right side scroll bar, no idea why it disappeared.  I don't
have a tab called Tools.  I've looked under Word Options and it has no
applicable options.  How do I make the scroll bar come back?

You don't have any kind of View or Display or Window Options?

I take it this is Word 2007? Hijacking a previous thread on a "similar"
issue leaves a lot of unanswered questions, especially when a different
version of the program is involved :-)

Go to the Office button then click the Word Options button. Select Advanced
from the left column and locate the Display group in the content pane. The
settings to be verified/changed are located there.

[If a prior version of Word go to Tools> Options> View to find the same
settings.]
