Group of docs randomly changing style formatting

I have a client who has a series of documents that have paragraph formatting
(within in a style) that randomly changes.  Nothing major - before paragraph
spacing changing from 2 pt to 3 pt, tabs changing from .25 to .3, etc.  We
have both checked the 'likely suspects' - linked styles or templates, reset
the bullets, etc.  She does not have this happen on any other documents (and
she creates a LOT of documents).  It seems very likely there is some option
that is consistent between these documents causing this, but I'm not sure
what it might be.  We're going to try changing the compatibility options
back to Word 2002 (many of these were at Word 97), but I'm not completely
sold that's the cause of this.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

TIA,
Mike

Reseting the compatibility options was not the solution, but I've now tried
turning off (under AutoCorrection options) the AutoFormat "List Styles"
option.  This was checked in several of these documents (at least those that
I looked at), though in our default template this is normally unchecked.
I'm still not 100% certain this is the cause - I cannot get it to 'break'
reliably to test it - so any ideas (even crazy ones!) are welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
