Word 2003 - Page size displays incorrectly

for some reason the page display size is only showing 7"x9" even though all
my setting show that it is set at 8.5"x11".  What would cause such a thing to
happen and what can I do to fix it.

I have tried repairing the problem and reinstalling the software.  Do I need
to uninstall the software and then install it again.  I have some templates I
had made that will come up with the correct display of 8.5"x11", but any new
documents only show 7"x9".....

Thanks for your help

If you're saying the page SIZE (File-->Page setup) is 7 x 9, then just edit
your normal.dot file:

If there's other things wrong, you may want to rename your normal.dot. All
instructions at the link.

I have this same problem.  Re-naming the Normal template didn't help.
The program insists on displaying new blank documents as if they were
7" x 9", even though it prints them out correctly.  This makes laying
out documents onscreen rather difficult.  Does anyone else have any
suggestions?

Cheers,

Juan

Hi, Juanito. Here's what I would do. I would go to the mfr site and download
the proper printer driver for my combination printer and operating system,
and install it (you just never know, and this is EASY). If that doesn't
work, then you need to do ALL of the troubleshooting steps:

Can you describe what you are seeing? If you are seeing that the ruler shows
7" x 9", then this represents just the document body area (inside the
margins).
